 | Pless Sculptor: Jenelle Armstrong Byrd Statue of the late Major Stephen W. Pless, who earned the Medal of Honor while serving as a helicopter gunship pilot during the Vietnam War. Pless was the only Marine Corps pilot to earn the MOH in Vietnam. The sculpture base includes a memorial base with the US Navy Medal of Honor. A brass plaque on the back summarizes the MOH action.
